about

Ojnab Blues # 1 (5:03) & # 2 (1:20) These two "broken
out of tune beat up banjo" pieces are more or less just
falling apart. It is first takes and the banjo is tuned
in C, C, F, C with capo on the 2nd fret. “Ojnab Blues”
are two linear improvisations, of which “Ojnab Blues
# 2” acts as an intermezzo. I got the banjo a few years
ago from a good friend. An instrument that over the
years has become a bit of a wreck and rarely keeps the
tuning a number through. It's full of obstructions and
personality, but has a sound that really appeals to me.
A crisp sound that almost pops, jumps and bounces
back and forth in the room - a resounding sound. I've
used this banjo before on the album "Amplification &
acoustics” feat. Mikkel Almholt/Ghost Flute Dice
(2012, Bandcamp), as well as on "Kalimba" and
“Kumasi "(2012, Bandcamp).
