about

Tar Gui (7:59) Take 6, A major with capo on 5th fret
The first part of Tar Gui came about at a concert at
Godsbanen (A-house), Aarhus. I often start my
concerts with "landing" through free improvisation.
For this concert came the small basic melody, which
is quietly unfolded in the first half of the song. The
second part of "Tar Gui" (where the bass figure comes
in) is written approx. Six months later, leaning
against the "ostinate brick wall", as well as a simple
melodic figure - and with his dancing hands against
the keys of the keyboard, Abdullah Ibrahim comes by
and says hello. For me, Tar Gui strikes a very special
slowness in which the tones are allowed to blend in
long stretches - which slowly raised fragile. There are
spaces around each one that linger and hang over
time. It gives a freedom - it is freedom for me to move
slowly, fast, vibrating storming quietly.
